Welcome to the website for Benfleet Yacht Club
A large and friendly club situated along the shore of Benfleet Creek, on the northern coast of Canvey Island, Essex.
Our club offers great opportunities for dinghy and cruiser sailing, plus coastal rowing. Dinghy sailing and coastal rowing mainly take place in the sheltered waters of Benfleet Creek, whilst for yacht cruising, the creek provides a gateway to the Thames Estuary and beyond. We have a large number of tidal moorings for yachts and our on-shore storage for both yachts and dinghies are second to none.
Complementing our sailing programme, we have a superb clubhouse, where the bar is open lunchtime and evenings 7 days a week, for members to meet up for a drink, a chat and a bite to eat, plus we provide an active social and entertainments programme throughout the year.

Interclub Dinghy Team Race at Leigh-on-Sea Sailing Club - Sunday 27th September
Annual event where BYC dinghy sailors (including Cadets) compete in teams against members of other local yacht clubs. This years event will be held at Leigh-on-Sea Sea Sailing but organised by Benfleet Yacht Club. A member of the Sailing Committee will be contacting all regular BYC dinghy sailors. More »

Autumn Work Party Weekend - Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October
Many jobs to be performed - inside and outside. Please bring appropriate clothing and PPE: overalls, boots, gloves, masks etc. Start time both days at 08:00am. Finish just after midday. Pop into the bar afterwards for drink and lunch. BYC Annual Dinner - Saturday 17th October
Time 6:30 for 7:00 pm. Silver Service three course dinner provided by "Brad Simpson Events". See accompanying photos for menu choices and further details. 2027 Season Cruise Planning Evening - Friday 23rd October
Starting at 8:00pm Benfleet Yacht Club hold five or six organised cruises each year. Our cruising events are usually a great success and well attended.
