Dinghy Sailing

Overview

Benfleet Yacht Club's dinghy sailing and racing predomin takes place in the sheltered waters of Benfleet Creek.

We have an extensive racing programme running throughout the entire year, which encompasses all classes and types of sailing dinghies.

Our members sail an eclectic mix of boats, ranging from single handed Laser's, Topper's & RS Tera's through to two person Wayfarer, GP14 etc. Basically, anything goes.

Latest News - Covid19 (updated 6th August 2020)

We would like to inform members that we are now permitted to recommence Dinghy Racing at Benfleet Yacht Club: all conducted within the latest Government guidelines etc.

Our first race will be the "Commodore's Trophy Race" on Sunday 16th August 2020. Race start time 9.45 am, and High Water 11.15 am.

Members wishing to compete the club's dinghy racing must read the risk assessment (which can be downloaded from the bottom of this page), prior to attending so that they understand the procedures and restrictions that will be in place.

Please also be advised that the club's changing rooms and showers will still remain out of use.
