Dowsing Room Hire

Hire of the club's "Dowsing Room" for BYC members private use

The Dowsing Room (the large bar) is available for members to hire for parties, meetings, and other events. The room can be arranged in a variety of ways, whole or in part, and you have exclusive use, including the bar.

Under the terms of our licence the facilities can only be hired by members.

Hire is subject to there being no Club events on the day requested and approval by the General Committee.

The fees for members personal use are shown in the table below.

All charges are "plus bar staff & cleaning" as required and is paid direct to the Steward. This is set at an hourly rate and depends on the type of function, number of people present etc. The Steward will help you with this.

Catering for your private event

Unfortunately, we do not currently have an "in house" catering service.

BYCs sandwich supplier Coffee and Moore can also provide buffet food for members private functions held at the club. Contact details can be found on their FaceBook page click here for details.

Alternatively, you are welcome to arrange your own food or employ an outside caterer to do so for you.

Did you know?

The name of the "Dowsing Room" came from our previous club headquarters, a former light vessel named the "Inner Dowsing".
