Welcome to the website for Benfleet Yacht Club
A large and friendly club situated along the shore of Benfleet Creek, on the northern coast of Canvey Island, Essex.
Our club offers great opportunities for dinghy and cruiser sailing, plus coastal rowing. Dinghy sailing and coastal rowing mainly take place in the sheltered waters of Benfleet Creek, whilst for yacht cruising, the creek provides a gateway to the Thames Estuary and beyond. We have a large number of tidal moorings for yachts and our on-shore storage for both yachts and dinghies are second to none.
Complementing our sailing programme, we have a superb clubhouse, where the bar is open lunchtime and evenings 7 days a week, for members to meet up for a drink, a chat and a bite to eat, plus we provide an active social and entertainments programme throughout the year.

Round Canvey Race - Row or Row/Sail Saturday 12th July
Annual Round Canvey Race - both Rowing and Row/Sail. Start at 12:15pm. Entry fee £8 per crew member. Mostly with the tide. 4 tidal barrages and bridges to go under (masts to come down) Bar open all day, BBQ food available to purchase. Large slipway. Ample on-site parking for cars and trailers. Announcing "Kirsty" BYC's New Caterer
We are pleased to announce that we have a new Caterer at BYC. Kirsty will be opening the "Sailors Rest" kitchen on Thursday 27th March at 11:30am. The Sailors Rest Kitchen will be open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes each week. Cadet Sail Training Week 2025
Thursday 24th July to Monday 28th July Inclusive. "Expression of Interest" (Booking Registration) opens on Saturday 1st March, and will close on Sunday 4th May.
