Covid19 Government Roadmap Step 2 - Opening of the Club Bar and Catering
Published 15:16 on 11 Apr 2021
Bar re-opening on Wednesday 14th April and Start of our new catering service on next Saturday 17th April
We are please to announce that the club bar will be re-opening on Wednesday 14th April, and that our new caterer will be starting to serve food from Saturday 17th April.
Unfortunately, under Regulations issued with Step 2 of the Government Roadmap (not earlier than 12th April), members will only be permitted to consume drinks and food whilst 'seated outside'. Hopefully, this situation will only remain in place for just over four weeks, until start of Roadmap Step 3 (not earlier than 17th May). To provide some protection from the elements, we have installed a couple of mini marquees at ground level adjacent to the clubhouse.
These Regulations also state that 'orders and payments' for both drink and food can only be taken from outside of the clubhouse. This situation also has to remain in place until the start of Roadmap Step 3.
Therefore, we have to adopt the following processes for the sale of food and drinks during this interim period. Please read these in conjunction with the diagram in the attached file (available to download further below) detailing the routes and places for ordering and payment of both drink and food.
Drinks - must be ordered, paid for and collected from a table located by the external doorway on the eastern (slipway) side balcony. During this interim period, payment must be made by Card / mobile phone app. only.
Food - must be ordered and paid for from a table located by the external doorway on the western (Dowsing Room) side balcony. The Caterer will then deliver the food to customers at their table via the eastern balcony. Payment in 'cash only' at this stage. The new Caterers are currently in the process of setting up a card payment account and terminal.
The clubhouse must remain closed to members until start of Step 3 (no earlier than 17th May). Toilets accessed from the outer doors only. The front door to the clubhouse is currently out of use due to the current building works.
Face Masks must be worn when:
- Ordering and collecting drinks until such time when seated.
- Ordering food (food will be delivered to members by the Catering staff when ready).
- When using the toilets.
Social distancing "rule of six or two households" will remain in place throughout this period.
We request that members return their Glasses to the table on the eastern balcony when finished.
'Each person' over the age of 16 drinking or eating, must either register their attendance either via the NHS Test and Trace QR code or sign the paper register. It is not permitted for one person to register only "their name, plus 3" for example.
Sanitising cleaning fluid and paper towelling will be provided for members to clean their table and chair prior to their use.
We appreciate that the above requirements will impose additional burden on our members, but unfortunately these are necessary in order for the bar and catering services to reopen. Hopefully this will only be in place for a period of just over four weeks.
Again, we ask that members support both the bar and our new catering service during these difficult times.
