Bank Holiday Weekend "Fun on the Water" & Barbecue - Sunday 30th August

Go Sailing -- Go Rowing -- Go Kayaking -- Go SUP'ing
Go Boating and just have "Fun On The Water"
Subject to the weather, Benfleet Yacht Club will be organising a "Fun on the Water" event on Sunday 30th August.
The two BYC support boats will be on the water on standby. Of course, we have to conduct this in line with the UK Government regulations and guidelines for social distancing and procedures etc.
If you don't have a boat: no problem. The club have a number of sailing dinghies and rowing vessels for use by members. Not done any rowing before? Go give it a try: the experts will be on hand to give guidance.
High Water time on Sunday 30th = 11.29. So be down in plenty of time to get rigged and dressed: around 2 1/2 hours before HW. Sadly, the earlier start and tide times are beyond our control.
Unfortunately, the changing rooms and showers have to remain out of use. You will need to arrive already dressed for the water or change in the car / car park (under suitable robing). Please, no changing in the toilets.
The attached Procedure and Risk Assessment document for Dinghy Racing will also apply for the Fun on the Water Days - please take a few minutes to read this. Multi-person boats should be crewed by members of the same household / bubble unit. When using club boats, you will be required to wash these down before and after use.
We are also planning to provide a "complimentary BBQ" on the same afternoon. This will of course be dependent on the weather being suitable to allow outdoor cooking and eating.
Members and their guests are reminded that they have to sign the daily attendance sheet (supporting Covid19 Track & Trace) when purchasing drinks from the bar. This requirement also applies for drinks being consumed outside.
